“We left home in the morning”, said Natalia, the mother of Yaroslav, 4, Stanislav, 11, and Nadia, 8, who is from Chernivtsi, Ukraine, north of Romania. She arrived in Siret customs on Monday, 28 February 2022, after walking for 8 kilometers. They will go to Timisoara, in the west of Romania and then to Deva, where Natalia’s husband works and lives. The cars stretch on the road all the way from Chernivtsi. The children were scared and didn’t want to leave their home, said Natalia.
